Dr. David Medford
Dr. Medford attended Cornell University and completed his medical school training at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (Rutgers-UMDNJ). He performed his Internship at University Hospital and his Ophthalmology Residency at United Eye Hospital, both part of the Rutgers-UMDNJ system.
Dr. Medford has been in private practice since 1988, with a concentration in Cataract and Refractive Surgery. He uses state of the art surgical techniques including LASER enhanced LenSx Cataract surgery, "No-Stitch", "No-Needle" Cataract surgery, Intralase & Custom View LASIK, Yag & Argon laser procedures, SLT laser treatment for glaucoma and Botox Cosmetic treatments.
Dr. Medford is a past member of the NJAO Board of Governors. For 2 decades, he held the position of Director of the Morris County Eye Health Service as well as the Township Ophthalmologist for the West Orange Board of Health. He is the recipient of the NJ ARC award for professionals. He is an Attending Physician at both Morristown Memorial & St. Barnabas Hospitals as well as an Attending Physician, Founder & Shareholder at Ridgedale Surgical Center in Cedar Knolls. Dr. Medford's professional affiliations include the American Academy of Ophthalmology, NJ Academy of Ophthalmology, Morris County Medical Society, Medical Society of NJ and the American Medical Association.
Dr. Jocelyn Hess


Dr. Hess completed her undergraduate studies at the State University of New York earning a Bachelors of Science in Medical Technology. After working as a Clinical Microbiologist, she went on to complete her Medical Degree, graduating Magna cum Laude from the State University of New York – Health Science Center at Brooklyn and being inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society.
She performed her Internship in Internal Medicine at the Maryland General Hospital in Baltimore, completing her Ophthalmology Residency at the Friendenwald Eye Institute at Maryland General Hospital. Dr. Hess furthered her training by completing a Fellowship in Cornea and External Diseases and Surgery with Contact Lens Training at the Tulane University Medical Center in New Orleans.
Dr. Hess has been in private practice since 1995, with a concentration in Anterior Segment and Corneal Surgery. Currently she practices Medical Corneal and General Ophthalmology. She is Board Certified by the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
