Dr. David Medford
Dr. Medford attended Cornell University and completed his medical school training at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (Rutgers-UMDNJ). He performed his Internship at University Hospital and his Ophthalmology Residency at United Eye Hospital, both part of the Rutgers-UMDNJ system.
Dr. Medford has been in private practice since 1988, with a concentration in Cataract and Refractive Surgery. He uses state of the art surgical techniques including LASER enhanced LenSx Cataract surgery, "No-Stitch", "No-Needle" Cataract surgery, Intralase & Custom View LASIK, Yag & Argon laser procedures, SLT laser treatment for glaucoma and Botox Cosmetic treatments.
Dr. Medford is a past member of the NJAO Board of Governors. For 2 decades, he held the position of Director of the Morris County Eye Health Service as well as the Township Ophthalmologist for the West Orange Board of Health. He is the recipient of the NJ ARC award for professionals. He is an Attending Physician at both Morristown Memorial & St. Barnabas Hospitals as well as an Attending Physician, Founder & Shareholder at Ridgedale Surgical Center in Cedar Knolls. Dr. Medford's professional affiliations include the American Academy of Ophthalmology, NJ Academy of Ophthalmology, Morris County Medical Society, Medical Society of NJ and the American Medical Association.
Dr. Sanjai Jalaj


Dr. Sanjai Jalaj, MD, is a board-certified, fellowship-trained ophthalmologist specializing in corneal, cataract, and refractive surgery. With a reputation for precision and compassionate care, he has performed thousands of sight-restoring procedures for patients in Morris and Essex counties over the past 5 years. Dr. Jalaj is Vice Chairman of Ophthalmology at Morristown Medical Center and practices in Morristown and West Orange. He is highly skilled in femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery, utilizing the most advanced intraocular lens implants to reduce or eliminate the need for glasses.
His expertise also includes state-of-the-art corneal transplantation techniques such as Descemet Membrane Endothelial Keratoplasty (DMEK), which preserves more natural tissue for optimal vision outcomes. He offers corneal collagen cross-linking for keratoconus, often preventing the need for transplants, and provides custom LASIK and PRK treatments for patients seeking freedom from glasses and contact lenses.
